Dear Parents,

Brrrrrr! I hope you’re all staying safe and warm through this freezing cold winter season! This month, 2^nd through 5^th graders will be busy. Next week is our Biblical Marketplace, and then we begin a new rotation cycle. During this rotation, your 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th, or 5^th grader will rotate between four workshops (Art, Cooking, Story and Games) that will help them learn and explore the story of Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane. Children will learn about the power and importance of prayer, and will create ways to remind themselves to make prayer a part of their everyday life. It is not always easy to be faithful to God, but we can be strengthened as Jesus was by trusting in God. The Bible reference for this lesson is Mark 14: 32-38. Please remind your child to bring their Bible to class each week, if possible. Also, I encourage you to talk with your child about what they did in class each week. What did your child like or dislike about the activity they did? What did they learn from class?

Important reminder: Next week, February 10, all children should report directly to their classrooms during the 9am service. In other words – do not start in the sanctuary as there will be no children’s time! Children will be visiting the Biblical Marketplace that morning, and will need the extra time to see it all. Furthermore, if your child usually attends the 10:30 service, but would like to visit the Marketplace, please plan to join us for 9am Sunday school that morning.
