Welcome to the website of First United Methodist Church of Appleton. We
have been serving this community in the downtown of Appleton for the
past 150+ years and are a vital, growing congregation that is seeking to
be a community of Open Hearts, Open Minds, and Open Doors. We
cordially and heartily invite you to pay us a visit at one of our four
weekend worship services.
I joined the staff of First United Methodist Church in July, 2007. I am
happy to report that I have found this to be a congregation of immense
hospitality, amazing care in your time of need, passionate about reaching
out to those in need in our community and beyond, and claiming our heritage
in personal and social holiness as we strive to deepen our spiritual lives
and reach out to insure social justice.
If you are looking for a vibrant community of faith where worship is
filled with joy and a respect for tradition, you need look no further. If
you are looking for a church with a significant commitment to children and
youth, you will find our Christian Education, LOGOS, and Youth Programs to
be very fine. If you are looking for a church that will challenge you to
discover your spiritual gifts and unearth your passion, employing them for
